Hey there! Glad you’re here and taking the time to read this. If you could take a moment and share this with just one person you know, it means a lot to me and gives me more motivation to continue to write. Thank you so much.
It’s been a full few weeks. This post is going to be more of a personal bit of writing because of what’s happened over the last few weeks. Let’s dive in.
Taking my mom to Hawaii
Over the past week, I was in Honolulu on a trip I’d been planning for a while to take my mom to Hawaii for some relaxation and fun. My goal was to give her a memorable and enjoyable travel experience.
Unfortunately, just days before the trip, I came down with a bad fever that left me completely drained. At one point, I was nearly passing out from exhaustion and barely able to eat, which meant I was still dealing with the aftermath during our time in Hawaii. While my energy levels weren’t ideal, we still managed to have a wonderful trip.
I always wish I could do more, but I gave it my all, considering how I felt. Despite being under the weather, we were able to do most of the activities I had planned for her. Below are some photos from the trip -

Personal Projects
Content trips and traveling for specific shoots have slowed down over the past month, which has been a much needed breath of fresh air for me. I’ve felt like I needed time away from work related travel for a while now. While things are set to ramp up again in January, I’m hoping to maintain both my fitness and my overall enthusiasm moving forward.
Lately, I’ve been dedicating more time to personal passion projects, ranging from micro short films to brainstorming documentary ideas. Below is a recent short film I worked on, testing out an anamorphic lens I’m considering purchasing in the future -
The Importance of Reflecting
The holidays are here and 2025 is going to be a reality before we know it. I’ll be taking some time to reflect on this past year and create some goals for the next year. I’ll be talking about those more in the next newsletter. Reflecting as the year ends is a valuable way to process experiences and gain perspective. It allows us to celebrate achievements, learn from challenges, and cultivate gratitude for the good in our lives. By taking time to reflect, we create a sense of closure, clarify what’s important, and set intentions for the new year.
Here’s your challenge to think about as I end this writing. As you read this, what are those things you need to leave behind?
Let go of the things that don’t serve you and step into the possibilities of your dreams in 2025.
New Documentary Recommendation
Recently, I watched one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a long time. It’s by a filmmaker I admire, Eric Floberg, and it follows photographer Joe Greer over two and a half years as he pursues his goal of breaking 2:40 in the marathon.
But the film is about so much more than running. It dives deep into Joe’s past, exploring his traumas, his upbringing, and the process of reconciliation and healing that shaped his journey.
I highly recommend watching this one. It resonated with me on a personal level and struck a chord in a way few films do. I think you’d really enjoy it too.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Have a great week.
All the best,
Blake
